Merseyside Fellow wins Young Ambassador of the Year

Every year for the last 14 years the BCT ( Blacon Community Trust ) have celebrated local people by organising an annual award ceremony. Dan Marsh, one of our Fellows, has recently been nominated for an award with the BCT so was sent an invite to their award ceremony on Friday 19th November 2010.
Local Councilors, head teachers, schoolchildren, residents and community groups were joined by Chester MP Stephen Mosley, to witness the 14th Awards ceremony in honour of volunteers and people who help bring about change to the lives of others.

Dancing Success in Bradford

One of our Bradford Fellows, Elisha who is 15, loves dance, in particular Urban dance.  Elisha has been training and choreographing a dance group who have recently won the Yorkshire and Humber heats of the National Street Dance Competition and are now through to the National Finals!  Elisha talks to us about why she loves dance and how she got involved in the project:

Q/ What made to you want to get involved with this dance project?

A/ Dance is something I love to do and it's something I really connect with.

Small Changes....

Our Cumbrian Fellows from Keswick are hoping by making small changes they can have a real impact on the future of their area by setting up a Youth Bus.  Here is what a Cumbria Fellow had to say about their project...

Catch up with our Fellows

Since the Fellowship Residential in August our Fellows have been busy working on their community projects.  Here is a taster of what they are up to:

Fellows get into Politics

This week the Youth Leadership Team caught up with Robert Smith, one of the founders of a new organisation called ‘PoliticalFuture’, which aims to get young people more active in UK politics.

As a project that has only recently been started, they have gone far with the creation of their website which includes information on the various ways in which young people can get involved in politics and help to get their voices heard.

A Fellow needs your votes!

Seven months into the Fellowship programme, we catch up with Alice, a Birmingham Fellow who in September, had plans to set up a project supporting home educated young people in her local area of Dudley.

Here is how Alice is getting on....
