'The Social' was an exciting event which took place in central London, on Social Enterprise Day, to celebrate social entrepeneurship and the Big Challenge Award winners.

The Big Challenge is run by The Youth of Today partner, Changemakers and UnLtd and gives young people the opportunity to tackle the Big issues of society through giving them cash grants and support.

Team ASPIRE (also known as Newham Team 111) has taken their community project to new heights! Our team are in the process of setting up and creating a youth led online radio station for us students (and staff) in and around Newham College Campuses. This innovative project will be ‘run by young people for young people’.

We all know that today’s youth don't get the best press going. But with the negativity aside, there's definitely a positive focus on young people now, more than ever; and well publicised events, like the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards, are exactly what’s needed in today's media driven society.
