The Youth of Today

7 young people spent Wednesday 17th February shadowing some of the key roles at Kerrang radio station, including Producer, Sound Technician, DJ, Script Writers and more....

They also got to see an exclusive gig by the Lostprophets and Kids in Glass Houses. Drivetime presenter and Big Brother 3 winner Kate Lawler also gave the group a Q&A session with her during the afternoon. The Youth of Today is currently sponsoring her show.

This exciting opportunity was made possible as part of The Youth of Today's partnership with Kerrang.

It’s only been a few weeks since UCAS warned us of the 23% rise in university applications and the 6000 decrease in university places; but following the announcement of the of 2010 budget, things seem to be looking up for any prospective students.

The Youth of Today

On the 6th April three charity representatives from 'Fight for Peace,' 'Otesha' and 'Muslim Youth Helpline' came to the young foundation to discuss the recent publication 'Taking the Lead' which explores youth leadership and youth employment, with a audience of around 40 people ready to ask them questions.Having the opportunity to chair the panel during such a lively debate proved both a informative and thought-provoking experience.

Today's general election announcement means that the Local Councillor Shadowing Programme will be suspended during the purdah period - i.e. until a new Government is formed.

This decision has been taken following meetings with our funders (Department for Children, Schools and Families & Communities and Local Government Department) in the interests of impartiality and prohibited publicity.
