Youth leadership opportunities

The Feminist Web Launch and Volunteering Hustings

Tuesday 2nd March was another busy day for me with the Youth of Today. I was asked to attend two events in London, the Feminists Web Launch and Volunteering Hustings.

Breakfast at No.10 Downing Street

The moment I board the train to London was the moment my fairytale began. I really couldn’t believe just what I was about to experience and how lucky I was to have that opportunity that I actually had to pinch myself a few times to make sure I was still in my own skin.

I got to a hotel, checked in and went up to my room. I was feeling very excited; I even found it hard to sleep at night. I woke up at 3am thinking it was early morning, and from then on I could not get any sleep.

v20 Youth Advisory Board - Recruiting Now!

Takeover Day is a fab idea

Just some of the organisations and people who opened their doors to thousands of young people across the country yesterday, for 11 Million's Takeover Day event, included Children's Secretary Ed Balls, shadow children's minister Tim Loughton, Tesco, the Red Cross, schools and local authorities.

Takeover Day encourages organisations to open their doors so children and young people can join in decisions which affect their daily lives. We love this, as well as anything else that gives young people the chance to become leaders.
