First of Many
hello everybody, this is my first blog and i would assume one of many.
Before i blog about the youth today and what we got planned i am going to tell you my story.
My name is Luke James i am 19 from Chatham. Like everyone that is envoled with this programme we all wont to make a difference to that one person or to thousands of people.
The main reason i wanted to get envoled with this is because all my life i have had people say you cant do that, your not clever enough to make something of your self ect.
From playing football or being in a band. I was willing to stop following my dream because of what people said or because of what i have done.
So now is my chance to make a difference and let other people try and reach there dreams or ambitions.
Im not saying i have had a terrible life because i haven't. I've got decent parents and some great friends fair enough i have ups and downs. but does it matter if i had isn't what you do with whats on the plate not what you got???
After leaving school i got a job was in and out of it like a rollercoaster. Then my boss had to let me go due to not enough work. and thats when i heard of the Prince Trust i went on a team programme and it helped me set out goals and targets to reach my dreams or ambitions.
After finishing that and coming out with some great friends and great ideas i started youth working. I got a mentor to kind of push me in the right direction and he helped me out a great deals thats when i became a princes trust young ambassador.
When i became Prince Trust young ambassador i was worried that it would be just a name but they got in contact with me about being involved with the youth of today. And thats what i am doing, working with great people, people with self drive and ambition.
to change the media decemption of the youth of today.
at the end of the day ' THE YOUTH OF TODAY ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMMOROW'
sorry its alot hope you enjoy reading my mini book lol
Im Luke James 19 years old from chatham and i am making a difference

I bet there are lots of other young leaders out there with inspiring thoughts to share - if this sounds like you, write a blog and inspire other young people to believe in themselves and start making a difference...
This is a really heartfelt story and shows that the journey that has led you to making a difference came about hrought the choices and challenges you faced.....
I ran a workshop this weekend along this theme for the youth of today fund at the young foundation. It is about the power and understanding that can come from being able to tell your story of yourself, your community and what you want to have happen in the future.....it was called 'making a difference'....
Maybe getting these stories into the media could prove a conteracting force to negative perceptions about the youth of today because there is nothing more powerful than our own experiences..
