Fund great projects

Do you have a great youth leadership project that you want to scale up?

Do young people you work with have innovative ideas that need some money to get them off the ground?

The Youth of Today Leadership Fund helps third sector organisations scale up innovative youth leadership projects, and reach out across communities.

We've got £1 million of funding to give away to great organisations across England, to be spent by March 2011. And your organisation's project can be part of how that money is allocated.

Learn about the grant programmes on offer:

  • Scaling Up. This fund helps small organisations take their existing projects to the next level.  The next application round will open on or around 23rd February 2010.   Please check back then for details
  • Reaching Out. This fund will enable established third sector organisations to develop new and exciting projects.  Reaching Out has now closed for applications.  We will be announcing successful grant recipients in March 2010.

More about the Fund

The Youth of Today Leadership Fund has been set up to fill outstanding gaps in the provision of leadership opportunities available to young people. The Fund will help to support programmes with cash and will identify new innovations that could lead to greater sustainability and creativity in the sector in the long term.

The fund is managed by The Young Foundation. Our vision is for all young people across England to have access to high-quality youth leadership opportunities.

Our mission is to increase accessibility and raise the standard of youth leadership opportunities offered by third sector organisations across England.

Our values are to:

  1. Support social organisations that allow young people to realise their potential.
  2. Be visionary in approach and fair in application.
  3. Respect and learn from communities in order to build on best practice.
  4. Take an infectious approach to youth-led innovation.

At the moment, we are not funding individuals or unregistered organisations. We are exploring the potential for doing this in future rounds – if you have any comments regarding this, please email us.
