Reaching Out is a strategic fund launched to create a lasting legacy in the field of Youth Leadership.

Reaching Out closed for applications on 19 November 2009. 

Grant applications were sought from voluntary and third sector organisations that had the following aims:

• Support and build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector, enabling organisations to impact on delivery and support of high quality youth leadership opportunities to disadvantaged young people / marginalised groups across England, focussing particularly on young people who have not had the opportunity to lead before.
• Support organisations or partnerships to work collaboratively to create leadership pathways
• Contribute to the building of a lasting, sustainable infrastructure for youth leadership beyond March 2011.
• Work across a wide geographical area. For example, a minimum of three London Boroughs; a county or a number of counties; a region for example such as the East Midlands, South West; or else across England as a whole.
