Scaling up

If your third sector organisation would like to develop an excellent local project, Scaling Up could be the perfect thing!

Round 3 of Scaling up will open this week.  We are finalising the application form and guidance notes.  Email us or check back tomorrow.
Round 4 (6 month projects only) will open in May 2010.
There will be no further rounds of Scaling up.

For rounds 3 and 4 we are going to be looking for ideas from third sector organisations.

In Round 3 you can apply for between £5,000 and £20,000.  In Round 4 projects must be a maximum of 6 months and for between £5,000 and £10,000.

More funding available soon!

In the next 2 weeks we will also be launching our Young Leaders Fund.  We will give out an additional 8 grants of £4,000 for projects developed by young people and supported by third sector organisations.  If you have young people with inspirational ideas, this could be the time to get them going!.

The Scaling Up grants aim to:

  • Help more young people take on leadership roles in their community.
  • Create more opportunities for young people to influence the decisions affecting them.
  • Raise the quality of youth leadership opportunities.
  • Enable small organisations to grow.
  • We are looking for innovative projects that are unlikely to find funding from other sources.

The grant should be used to develop and expand youth leadership programmes – including delivery costs, staff costs.  Small capital items of up to 20% of the grant we are awarding are allowed.

If you're unsure about anything, read our Frequently Asked Questions or email us clearly stating the nature of your query.  Please, please read the guidance notes before you get in touch as the answer is most likely there already.  We also suggest you check our blog on feedback to applicants.
